1928 Building Committee
Status Update - August 2024
The 1928 Building Project recently completed the construction document phase, representing the end of the design phase of the project to transform the 1928 Building into the new Farmington Town Hall. In May of 2024, the 1928 Building Committee reviewed and approved the Construction Document cost estimate, keeping the project on budget at $16,000,000.
Bid Updates
The 1928 Building Committee awarded the Civil Bid Package (for sitework) to J. Iapaluccio, Inc. This firm submitted the lowest bid, and is also the sitework contractor for the FHS Building Project. Utilizing the same sitework contractor for the FHS Building Project and the 1928 Building Project is advantageous because the contractor is already familiar with the site and because no coordination between two firms will be required. This will maximize efficiencies and site synergies.
The General Contractor Renovation Bid Package is slated to be released in early-August. Bid responses will be due in mid-September, at which point the 1928 Building Committee will select a general contractor.
The 1928 Building Committee typically meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month in the Town Hall Council Chambers. Meetings are in person and streamed over Zoom. We encourage you to stay informed. Please visit www.1928building.org for the latest project updates.
